Peter W. Hagist
Vice President, Permian Operations
Peter Hagist is Vice President of Permian Operations for Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation in Midland, Texas. His responsibilities include management of all Whiting operations in the Permian Basin and in the Panhandle of Oklahoma, including the Postle CO2 flood project in Guymon, Oklahoma and the North Ward Estes CO2 project near Monahans, Texas. He has more than 27 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and 17 years of experience managing tertiary recovery operations. Prior to joining Whiting in 2005, he held management and professional positions with Kinder Morgan CO2 Company and Pennzoil Exploration and Production Company. Mr. Hagist holds a Bachelors Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and is a Registered Professional Engineer.
Gale N. Keithline
Vice President, Information Technology
Gale Keithline joined us in April, 2003 as Director of Information Technology. He was named Vice President of Information Technology in January, 2006. Mr. Keithline has 32 years of information technology experience and has held executive managerial positions with three other Denver companies, as well as managing an independent consultancy. Mr. Keithline holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Management Science from Metropolitan State College, Denver, Colorado.
Chuck LaCouture
Vice President, Marketing
Charles “Chuck” La- Couture is Vice President of Marketing, responsible for marketing the produced hydrocarbons for Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation. He joined Whiting in 1996, and was elected Vice President in 2008. He has more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Management from Texas A&M University.
Mark D. Sonnenfeld
Vice President, Geoscience
Mark Sonnenfeld is Vice President of Geosciences and is responsible for internal prospect development and evaluation of externally generated opportunities and acquisitions. He earned his BA in Earth Science from Dartmouth College, Masters of Science in Geology from Colorado School of Mines, and PhD in Geology with Minor in Reservoir Engineering, also from Colorado School of Mines. He has more than 20 years of experience in oil and gas including previous engagements with Marathon’s Petroleum Technology Center, Elf Exploration and Production’s Center for Science and Technology, and iReservoir.com.
John K. Southwell
Vice President, Permian Exploration
John Southwell, Vice President of Exploration for Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation, has 32 years of experience in oil and gas exploration and development. Prior to joining Whiting, Mr. Southwell executed international and domestic projects with Superior Oil, Mobil, Texaco, Tom Brown, Inc. and Celero Energy. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Geology from Eastern Illinois University.
Douglas L. Walton
Vice President and National Drilling Manager
Doug Walton joined Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation in June 2004 as a Senior Drilling Engineer, became Drilling Manager in January 2006, and Vice President – National Drilling Manager for Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation in March 2008. Mr. Walton has 29 years of oil and gas experience including staff and management positions involving the Rocky Mountains, Mid-Continent, Gulf Coast and Permian areas. He has a Bachelors Degree in Petroleum Engineering from West Virginia University and a MBA from University of Denver.
